Wrestling Autism Radio |
Wrestling Austism Radio (WAR) is run by A.G.Vito and his co-host Big Al. AG Vito has been in radio for one year and Al his been doing it for two and a half years. AG came up with the idea for WAR one month ago and they both work with Wrestling Autism. Founded in Feb. 2007, Wrestling Autism quickly aligned themselves with the National Autism Association to help them get the national message of autism awareness out there along with a specific charity that will recieve all of Wrestling Autism's proceeds. This relationship has helped raised over $6,000 in the first year and hopes to double that number in 2008. Please check them out and make a donation! |

Domestic Violence Awareness |
The National Coalition Against Domestic Violence began in 1978. Over one hundred women's advocates came together in Washington, DC to attend the U.S. Commission on Civil Rights’ hearing on battered women. NCADV was created at this historic event to unite advocates who had previously addressed in isolation the common problems their programs faced. NCADV celebrates its 30th anniversary this year (2008) and remains the only national organization offering grassroots shelter and service programs for battered women. Please be sure to check this site out. They do a lot of amazing work for women and children. The subject is very close to my webmistresses heart as she is a domestic violence survivor. It is a growing epidemic and we both would love for you to check out the website and show some support. |

Crohn's Disease |
Currently affecting an estimated 500,000 people in the United States, Crohn's disease is a chronic inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) that causes inflammation or swelling of the digestive tract, also known as the gastrointestinal (GI) tract. Crohn's disease can affect any part of the GI tract, though it usually occurs at the end of the small intestine, also known as the ileum, and the beginning of the large intestine, also known as the colon. Crohn's disease often is mistaken for other GI disorders that cause similar symptoms, such as ulcerative colitis, diverticulitis and irritable bowel syndrome (IBS). In 1996, my webmistress' husband went into the hospital. He had been sick for a few months and now he was dying. Doctors had misdiagnosed him several times, but finally a doctor from the Mayo Clinic in Scottsdale discovered that he was suffering from Crohn's Disease. He was taken for emergency surgery and part of his small and large intestines were removed. He recovered well and is now on a monthly regimine to help prolong the return of this disease. There is no cure and there is still very little known about it. Doctors are making strides every day to learn more about this disease and where it comes from. Please visit the Crohn's & Colitis Foundation of America.
